Tourism is a leading brand of the economy, employing 1/3 of the population. A good tourist base, beaches and suitable climate. Each year the country is visited by 130 000 foreign tourists. There is a lack of ores and minerals and the industry is represented by small companies, processing agricultural production.Major agricultural products: coconut palm, tobacco, vanilla and cinnamon. Major export goods: canned and frozen fish, copra, vanilla, cinnamon bark.
